Mamian Qun 马面裙 (horse faced skirt) originates from the Ming Dynasty and was commonly worn by women of all classes. 

The "horse faced skirt" gets its name from its construction similar to old war forts that were also called Mamian 马面 (horse face). The name stuck around due to its ease to wear while horseback riding.

The construction of the mamian qun 马面裙 contains 2 large front and back panels showcasing the brocade, and many trapezoidal pleats on the sides. This creates a very flattering A-line silhouette without needing any petticoat.

Stunning golden threads run throughout the skirt, adding a touch of luxury to any ensemble. Features a double Lan 襕 (decorative border) design common during the Middle Ming Dynasty. A wider strip at the knees paired with a thinner strip along the bottom, this allows it to be paired with shorter shirts without losing an inch of stunning textiles! 

Imprints of more flowers and fans are contained within the base fabric - from top to bottom the skirt blooms with lustrous shine!

CLEANING INFORMATION

Please hand wash carefully as to not ruin the embroidery, jewels, or buttons. Please air dry the clothes on a hanger. Hand washing and air drying also extends the life of your hanfu. For ironing, please use lowest heat setting or steam out the wrinkles.
